Windows Server 2008 R2 is finally here, and it’s packed full of goodies. The first thing I noticed was the similarity with Windows 7, the tool bar is designed and operated the same as in Windows 7. I am very excited about the x64 bit platform, I just setup a New Print Server and even though one of our printers does not have a x64 bit driver the system still accepted the x86 bit driver. Which is awesome! Good job Microsoft I am looking forward to the other features that are in this Server OS. I do plan on working with the new Hyper-V, one thing I am concerned about is the compatibility with Server 2008 (Non-R2). I tested the beta of R2 and the Virtual Machines were not compatible for R2, I am going to test this out in the near future and see if there is a upgrade path I can take. Look back for more updates.
